As promised, we have been working on an updated rulebook covering some of the Frequently Asked Questions and we will be able to share in the next update.

Right now we wanted to remind you about the last hours to join into Kiwi Chow Down Kickstarter campaign which now includes a miniature that will be playable in War for Chicken Island too: the Mecha Kiwi! 

And as a reminder, the three games from Avian archipielago will be merged into a single game experience with a digital ruleset.

You can still get the game with deluxe components at the best possible price on its campaign here or you can always pledge $1 and choose whether to upgrade your pledge or not in the pledge manager.

Involving backers in Kiwi Chow Down development

As you are very well aware, we LOVE shaping our games with your insight and suggestions. (That's how Cluckthulhu and Yolk-Sothoth were created in the first place, plus a lot of your War for Chicken Island components such as Roastinator, cloth bag, 5th player components, etc).

In Kiwi Chow Down it is not the exception, so you can help us vote for the new minis design, and we are also changing the game board illustration design based on feedback from our Kiwi Chow Down backers.

It is a new year! We hope you had some restorative holidays from a very tough year (to say the least). We wish your 2021 is far better and now that most of you have your rewards in your hands, we hope War for Chicken Island brings joy to your home. 

Super quick fulfillment update:

•  Australia: Aetherworks has received the games and will start fulfillment within the next week or two, your games will arrive by the end of January! If you need to contact them for a change of address, click here.
•  Chile, Brazil, and Southafrica: Parcels are still on hold due to Covid19 restrictions. But we have not forgotten you. We are following closely updates from Happyshops, our fulfillment partner.
•  Replacements: If you contacted us for a replacement, no further action is needed, your info is registered and in queue; we are still finalizing counts for the damaged Rubber Mats.

Fulfillment for all other countries are completed, if your parcel has not arrived and no tracking received, or if you need a replacement, you can contact us [email protected] with the subject "Missing Chickens" or "Chicken Replacement" and we will follow up.

Are you enjoying War for Chicken Island?? We have read some incredible reviews and feedback from all of you! Just yesterday we saw Quackalope's unboxing video and it is truly egg-xtraordinary!! Check it out!

Really, our hearts are filled with cackling joy when we read your stories and pictures! 

If you have more pictures to share feel free to post them in our Discord server, in BoardGameGeek or use the hashtag #warforchickenisland in social media!

We are very glad that many of you received your chickens on time for Christmas, including local pickup backers. (Hello Marc de Prat! great picture!)

But we know fulfillment is not finished yet, and we won't rest on 2021... 

Fulfillment status

• US, MX, & Asia

All parcels should have arrived already. If they haven't please contact us at [email protected] and we will help you check if your survey was complete or if there was any other issue.

• Canada - Lion Rampant (via Gamerati)

Orders started to arrive last week but it is likely that they are in transit for the next couple of weeks.

• UK - Boardgame Guru

Last week most parcels went out and arrived just before Christmas. If you haven't received your rewards, they might still be in transit and almost there.

• Europe - HappyShops

Most parcels should have arrived except for a few countries which may have slow or limited activity due to the holidays. We are aware of some backers with French copies who did not get the Kickstarter Exclusive Box, but a duplicated base game. Happyshops mixed one of the pallets but they already started correcting this issue so it should be in their way.  

• South America & Africa - HappyShops

All parcels should be in transit except the ones for Chile, Brazil, and South Africa are on hold due to DHL additional shipping fees. We will review early next year to resume shipping to these countries.

• Australia - Aetherworks (via VFI Asia)

Orders might take at least two more weeks to arrive. Aetherworks will send this early next year. We are sorry for the extra delay but you will get your games soon!

Once we finish with fulfillment we will proceed to ship all replacements needed and then let you know the copies left for the Kickstarter Exclusives (in case you missed getting those add-ons).

Predetermined islands

When playing War for Chicken Island for the first time and building the island, your gaming group might assemble complex islands with a couple of tight spaces or bottlenecks. For your first games, we recommend very well connected islands so here are some examples depending on the player count:

End of year

Finally, after 2 years of funding this Kickstarter campaign, we have fulfilled most of your rewards (and still working). We have been together with you for more than two years. And you are the best chicken army we could have asked for! 

This year was a challenging one, to say the least. But we are grateful for your company, for your turst, for your faith, for every comment you have posted, we know there were some bumps in the way, and some things we still need to work on. But once again we want to thank you all. War for Chicken Island was our first huge Kickstarter campaign, and it has a special place in our story. In addition to Creature Kingdoms (the universe where War for Chicken Island resides), we have different teams working in other universes (Dragonbond, Eldritch Century, and a web platform called LAIR), this is what we have achieved in 2020 and without your support it would not have been possible.

 We thank you for all these moments and amazing surprises we've been through this year with you, Chicken Army. And we wish you the very best for your 2021; health, prosperity, and most of all, happiness.

Finalmente, después de 2 años de financiar esta campaña de Kickstarter, hemos cumplido con la mayoría de las entregas (y seguimos trabajando). Llevamos juntos más de dos años. ¡Y ustedes son el mejor ejército de pollos que podríamos haber pedido!

At last!! It is happening! Chickens are arriving to every home to start war! 

We are humbled by your great reviews about the quality of the game. Feel free to share that review in BoardGameGeek!

This was a work of love for you, our backers, who trusted us and waited for us. We place our hearts in all our projects and this one is very special because it was our first large Kickstarter campaign. We are so happy to read you are enjoying your rewards. THANK YOU!

We know many of you are still waiting but don't worry! You will most likely receive your game before the year ends! 

Today we will talk about:

• Fulfillment status for each region
• Replacements/missing items (including damaged mat issue, clarification for green dice and Cluckthulhu cards+sleeves)
• Gameplay questions

Fulfillment status

•  USA (Gamerati): All parcels were dropped in the mail last week! If you have not received your rewards, they will most likely arrive this week. We are waiting for tracking numbers from our fulfillment partner but feel free to send an email to [email protected] with the subject "WfCI tracking number" and we will forward it to you as soon as we receive the complete list! Replacements and missing items will start soon.
•  Canada (Gamerati partners): Gamerati consolidated orders for Canadian backers to send those within Canada. Next week, items should arrive to your country and from there, they will be dispatched in the mail so you don't deal with custom charges. We expect you all to start receiving your games within the next 2 weeks. Almost there!! Thanks for your patience!
•  Mexico (Detestable Games): Our friends from Detestable Games have placed the orders in the mail some days ago (Estafeta) and you should be already receiving your rewards. 
•  Local pickup in Mexico: Detestable Games should have gotten in touch with Mexican backers in GDL or CDMX to confirm address or local pickup (or you can reach [email protected] to ask directly). If you chose local pickup, you will be able to get a free item (Snap Bases, Card Sleeves, or Yolk-Sothoth only). For backers in Guadalajara, you will be able to pickup your rewards with Detestable Games; backers in Mexico City will be able to collect in Draco Studios HQ.
•  United Kingdom (Boardgameguru): Last week, the cargo finally arrived to our fulfillment partner and this week some of you have already received tracking numbers. Our project should be at pick&packing stage and we expect the parcels to be sent next week. 
•  Europe (Happyshops): Most orders have been dispatched and have started to arrive in European countries. We have requested tracking numbers so you can send us an email to [email protected] with the subject "WfCI tracking number" and we will get that to you as soon as we have them. Your rewards should arrive soon.
•  Asia (VFI): The shipments started this week and some in Asia have already arrived. Depending on your country's proximity to China you might receive your rewards during the next week or a little bit later (for the farthest ones).
•  Australia (VFI > Aetherworks): Last communication we received from VFI in Asia was that they had forwarded orders to Aetherworks so they ship within Australia without extra customs to you. After that, Aetherworks will place your rewards in the mail. These parcels might still take a couple of weeks to arrive, but the chickens are almost there!
•  Rest of the World (Happyshops): Orders for backers in Central America, South America and Africa will be dispatched by Happyshops in Germany. This might still take some time but we expect you to receive tracking numbers from Happyshops to have more accurate estimated time of arrival. There are 35 orders to countries in South America that are still in queue and might take at least 2 weeks to arrive since there are still complication to ship packages into some countries. We are grateful for your understanding.

Replacements and Missing Items

As expected with all manual processes such as assembly of components or pick & packing, errors might take place. Manufacture can have from 1% to 2.5% of the games to have an error in assembly with missing components. Shipping might cause damaged contents. If this is your case, do not worry, we are here for you and we will work with our fulfillment partners in each region to send replacements once fulfillment has finished.

• Send an email to [email protected] preferably with the subject "Chicken Replacement" or "WfCI Missing Item"
• If your component is damaged, please include a picture in case we need to file a complaint.

Rubber Mats with cracks due to being folded

Unfortunately, it seems some cartons included the Rubber Mats folded rather than extended. This has caused some mats to have cracks. We are aware of this and will proceed with replacements soon. If this is your case and you haven't shared an email with us, please follow the steps above so we can have all issues in our records. We are very sorry about this, while it was beyond our grasp, it is certainly something we will fix so you get your rewards in perfect condition.

Green Dice clarification

Many of you have asked about green dice being missing. We are very sorry for this misunderstanding since we tried to keep you informed in past projects updates about the course of action. In short: The resin dice with the blood & bone look are the ones intended for the 5th player. 

Remember as well that the game was balanced for up to 4 players but since many of you, our beloved backers asked for a stretch goal with 5th player components, we were very happy to make it possible for you!

Sleeves and Cluckthulhu cards

The sleeves included are considered just for Leaders, Machines and Scroll cards, with some extras for replacements to you or future promos (for example in Dodos Riding Dinos)

Since only a small percentage of backers ordered the physical Cluckthulhu, including a 3rd design in the sleeves would have changed the cost for us and for backers, and also resulting in many backers with unused sleeves.

We recommend looking for regular sleeves (mini euro size) that your friendly local game stores may have in stock.

War for Chicken Island's Pictures

•  Asia (VFI): Los envíos comenzaron esta semana y ya han llegado algunos en Asia. Dependiendo de la proximidad de su país a China, es posible que reciba sus recompensas durante la próxima semana o un poco más tarde (para los más lejanos).
•  Australia (VFI > Aetherworks): VFI en Asia ha enviado órdenes a Aetherworks, así que ellos enviarán las órdenes a Australia sin impuestos aduanales adicionales. Después de esto, Aetherworks pondrá sus recompensas en el correo. Estos paquetes puede que tome un tiempo en llegar, un par de semanas, ¡pero los pollos ya casi están ahí! 
•  Rest of the World (Happyshops): Órdenes para nuestros backers en Centro América, Sudamérica, y África serán despachadas por Happyshops en Alemania. Esto puede tomar un poco de tiempo, pero esperamos a que reciban sus códigos de rastreo de Happyshops para tener un tiempo más acertado sobre el estimado de llegada. Hay 35 paquetes a países de América del Sur que todavía están en cola y pueden tardar al menos 2 semanas en llegar, ya que todavía hay complicaciones para enviar paquetes a algunos países. Reemplazos y artículos faltantes 

Como esperábamos con el manual de procesos, desde el montaje de los componentes o selección y empaquetado, los errores podrían llegar a aparecer. La manufactura puede tener desde 1% hasta 2.5% de juegos con error en el montaje con componentes faltantes. El envío pudo jaber causado daño al contenido. Si es tu caso, ¡no te preocupes! Estamos aquí para ustedes y trabajaremos con nuestros centros de distribución en cada región para mandar reemplazos una vez que la entrega haya terminado.  

• Manda un correo a [email protected] con el tema"Chicken Replacement" o "WfCI Missing Item"
• Si tu componente se encuentra dañado, por favor, manda una fotografía pues nos permite tener una prueba y un seguimiento.

Rubber Mats con ruptura debido a que fueron doblados 

Desafortunadamente, parece que algunos cartones, incluidos los de los mats han sido doblados en vez de empacarse extendidos. Esto ha causado que algunos de los mats estén cuarteados o rotos. Estamos conscientes de la situación y procederemos con el reemplazo pronto. Si es tu caso y no has mandado un email, por favor, sigue los pasos mencionados anteriormente, así mantendremos en registro todos los problemas. Realmente lamentamos esto, mientras que esto va más allá de nuestro alcance, es seguro que arreglaremos tus recompensas y estarán en perfecta condición. 

Aclaración de los dados verdes

Muchos de ustedes han preguntado por la falta de dados verdes. Lamentamos mucho este malentendido, ya que tratamos de mantenerlos informados en las actualizaciones de proyectos anteriores sobre el curso de acción. En resumen: los dados de resina con aspecto de sangre y hueso son los destinados al 5º jugador.

Recuerda también que el juego fue equilibrado para hasta 4 jugadores, pero dado que muchos de ustedes, nuestros queridos patrocinadores, pidieron una meta extendida con componentes de 5º jugador, ¡estamos muy contentos de hacerlo posible para ustedes!

Micas y cartas Cluckthulhu

Las micas incluidas se consideran solo para líderes, máquinas y tarjetas de pergamino, con algunos extras para reemplazos o promociones futuras (por ejemplo, en Dodos Riding Dinos)

Dado que solo un pequeño porcentaje de patrocinadores ordenó el Cluckthulhu físico, incluir un tercer diseño en las micas habría cambiado el costo para nosotros y para ustedes los patrocinadores, y también habría resultado en muchos patrocinadores con micas sin usar.

Recomendamos buscar micas tamaño mini euro que sus tiendas de juegos locales amigables puedan tener en existencia.
